Full Tilt Poker Announced That They Will Ban US Players From Their Site
Following its temporary seizure by the US government, Full Tilt poker announced that they will ban US players from their site. Full Tilt broke the unfortunate news through a press release that stated, “Unfortunately, as a result of this action (US involvement), Full Tilt poker has decided that it must suspend real money play in the United States until this case is resolved. However, Full Tilt will continue to provide peer-to-peer online poker services outside of the United States.”
The only good news that has come out of this announcement is that US Full Tilt player cashouts won’t be affected by the ban as they released a statement saying, “All players who were affected by the current situation have had their funds returned to their accounts and all new withdrawal requests are processing normally. We assure all players on Full Tilt poker that your online playing experience will not change and that you will be able to both deposit and withdraw funds as needed. Your money remains safe, secure, and accessible at all times.”
Many people throughout the online poker community dubbed friday “Black Friday” in reference to all of the negativity surrounding internet poker. With Full Tilt out of the US market, they could experience a huge drop in revenue just like Party poker did when they pulled out of the United States.
Assuming that the US ever does come around to allowing legal online gambling again, Party poker would be one of the first sites let in since they both pulled out of the United States market, and settled with them by paying $300 million in “damages.”
