Gus Hansen in $3.5 million profit in 2011
The Great Dane seems unstoppable this year. On Friday night his online heater continued when he won $462,000 to the inconvenience of his victim, the anonymous player ‘DrugsOrMe’.
Gus Hansen has started his climb back to the top. From 2007, when highstakesdb.com started monitoring the nosebleed games on Full Tilt Poker, until the summer of 2010, Gus lost close to an astounding $10 million.
September 2010 became the turnaround for the high stakes gambler. Since then Gus has won continuously, being now, half way through March, “only” $3.5 million in negative. In other words, the Great Dane has been able to make more than $6 million during the last nine months.
His profit during the first three months of 2011 alone adds up to $3.5 million, thanks to another successful session on Friday night against the unknown player DrugsOrMe. The two high rollers competed in a PLO Cap $500/$1000 game on two tables. Gus was once again the big winner, adding $462,000 to his bankroll.
DrugsOrMe, on the other hand, is now down $800,000 in 2011. Due to a very nice 2010, the anonymous player, however, still has an overall plus of one million dollars.
Hansen has now extended his lead on the 2011 leader board, whereas German limit expert Kagome Kagome, Phil ‘OMGClayAiken’ Galfond and Tom “durrrr” Dwan are the biggest losers in 2011, all with losses of more than $1 million.
