Zynga Poker Chip Hacker Gets Temporary Reprieve

Ashley Mitchell Stole Poker Chips Worth $12 Million From Zynga But Dramatic New Evidence Stalls Sentencing
A UK computer hacker who was convicted of stealing $12 million worth of virtual poker chips from online game operator Zynga has had his sentencing stalled in a dramatic late twist in the case according to Thisisdevon.co.uk.

Ashley Mitchell, 29 of Paignton, Devon was remanded in custody until next week but his solicitor told the court he was contacted just hours before the hearing by a former Zynga staff member who claimed to have “pertinent information” regarding the value of the chips.

Recorder Kevin de Haan adjourned the case until March 14 saying, “It is in everyone’s interest that I place a proper value on these chips and what they can achieve on the market.”

Mitchell admitted five counts relating to hacking and asked for 41 other offences to be taken into consideration.
