Blom Defeats Daniel Cates At Pot Limit Omaha With A Huge Win
Viktor ‘Isildur1′ Blom, one of the most noted and highly followed players on Team PokerStars Pro recently went up against Dan ‘jungleman12′ Cates. Both players battled it out in match that went on for 2,804 hands on PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site.
The event was a game of Pot Limit Omaha with a buy-in of $25/$50. Viktor ‘Isildur1′ Blom won Dan ‘jungleman12’ Cates and ended up with $343000. The game against Dan Cates was one of Viktor Blom’s best games on PokerStars although Dan Cates did try to decrease the gap many times during the eight hour long game.
Viktor Blom is a 20 year old Swedish player who has taken over other opponents for $68000 and increased his worth to $411000. Over this calendar year, Viktor Blom has totalled a huge profit of $454000.
There were several other wins at the PokerStars event that were also noteworthy. Another poker player who uses the name ‘compris’ had a great win against ‘ilvdnfl’ and won a sum of $225000.
‘Compris’ also played against Zypherin, Phil ‘MrSweets28′ Galfond, Scott ‘urnotindangr’ Palmer and Alexey Makarov at the Pot Limit Omaha tables and won big. ‘Compris’ won $127540 after landing a full house and took away all the chips from Makarov and Palmer at the same time.
Gus Hansen, who is the 2010 World Series of Poker Europe bracelet winner, had to settle for a win of just $22000 on Thursday. However, Hansen should not be too disappointed as he has winnings of around $3 million in this year of 2011.
Other players who own huge stakes include ‘Verheijen’ for $55,000) and ‘martonas’ for $70,000. A few other players who lost money were ‘IMALLIN723′, KingOfSuckoutz’ and Cole South.
The other high stakes games were filled with excitement on PokerStars since players won huge amounts with ‘MrSweets28’ taking down $468000 and ‘gavz101’ winning $308000.
Andreas “skjervoy” Torbergsen landed the largest victory on Full Tilt with a huge sum of $287000. Full Tilt was also buzzing with excitement all around and the team Full Tilt pro is still up over $2 million this year.
It has been strange for the last few weeks on high stake tables of online poker where well known poker players have not come up, while new names have been hoarding loads of money from PokerStars. It is probably just about time for new names to be in the spotlight for playing poker this year at this attractive online poker site.
