High Stakes Poker Season 7 Episode 1 Is Here

The popular cash game show ‘High Stakes Poker’ has entered its seventh season – with some changes to follow.

Last year Kara Scott replaced A.J. Benza as co-host. This season the popular Gabe Kaplan is being replaced by the Canadian comedian Norm McDonald. As something new the program will be held at Bellagio, the most famous poker casino in Las Vegas.

The biggest and most controversial difference is that PokerStars has taken over the sponsorship of the program, which means that Full Tilt’s pros are not allowed to play.

In other words: no Phil Ivey, no Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, no Patrik Antonius and Gus Hansen for that matter.

Old acquaintances as Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein and Antonio Esfandiari, by contrast with the first line-up. Together with Eli Elezra, Daniel Negreanu, the trio are the only participated in all previous six seasons of ‘High Stakes Poker’.

Action from start

In the seventh season, several business people also participate, as the minimum stake is $ 200,000.

Even without the players like Ivey and Dwan there are plenty of action in the first program with pots of more than $ 400,000. The PokerStars pro Vanessa Selbst is the guarantor of the fresh style, which distinguishes her from the only two women who previously played with, Mimi Tran (season 1) and Jennifer Harman (season 1-4).

Without Gabe Kaplan’s voice is the new High Stakes Poker, however, far from the old style. Look yourself with: Pokercast.tv has put up the first program in full.
