PokerStars launches Women’s Poker League 2011
Ladies poker online is back with the launch of the 2011 season of the Women’s Poker League on PokerStars.
The idea of the league is to help women learn the game in a friendly, no-stress environment.
With low buy-ins, league competition, freerolls and an opportunity to win a PokerStars Women Live Event package for the winner, PokerStars claim it’s the perfect choice for women who are new to the game.
This year’s League will launch on February 7, with two tournaments daily at both $0.10 and $1.10 buy-in levels, making the experience affordable and fun.
A freeroll on Sunday offers tickets to the $0.10 weekly tournament, which means that players can have the opportunity to play in the league with no cash investment whatsoever. The $0.10 tournaments run every day at 13:00 ET and 20:00 ET and the $1.10 tournaments are at 14:00 ET and 21:00 ET.
Both European and US divisions will be represented, and times are designed to meet the needs of players in both European and US time zones.
The league will offer both monthly and yearly cash prizes and the year-end winner of both leagues will win a PokerStars Women Live Event package up to a maximum cash value of $4,000.
Other promotions offering higher buy-in tournaments for more experienced players are in the planning stages. Last year’s $5.50 tournaments were popular with many players, and plans are in the works for a special promotion designed for them.
